2. No problem with a gay or lesbian person |
|
When I was growing up and younger years we had a gay person and we all liked him. He was nice and never bothered anybody. He had a heart attack when he was in his 40's and we all were upset. There is absolutely positively nothing wrong with a gay or lesbian person. What I find offensive is people like Haggard, who stand up and rant and rave against gays when they are gay themselves they are hypocrites.

I wonder how Haggard is doing with his "redocroctination programs? The program said he had to be belittled by pastors enough to break his behavior patterns by humiliation by the lectures of his peers. (Please keep me way from these creeps).

I hate to be so petty and catty, but every time I see him, I get the heebie-jeebies. Something about that long, long face, I think! UGH. Reminds me of a horse ( no offense to horses!). This is one gay man who doesn't find Kenny Boy attractive in the least!

7. Do you believe that there are straight men who have sex with men? |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 10:27 AM by Vorta
It isn't the whole of the discussion, but it's part of it. I happen to believe that this phenomenon is largely in the minds of gay men who like to fantasize that they are actually hooking up with a straight man on an internet chat site. I also happen to believe that fantasy of this sort isn't healthy, but we don't get a vote in the fantasies of others.
Is it possible that there are some straight men who come to believe that having sex with a man is simply easier and likely to be safer in the sense that men don't get pregnant or marriage minded, especially when no real names are used? If that is the case, then what are these men being outed as? Gay or straight but indiscriminate slut?

8. No, straight men do not have sex with other men |
|
Gay or bi men have sex with men. Not straight men. Thus, the reason they are called straight or bi or gay.
Good grief. Your posts are like Alice in Wonderland.

12. I dont buy the mechanics of sex making me one or the other |
|
Sorry, but 'this' going 'there' is only 'sex'.
The larger sex organ, the brain, culls out attraction, emotion, attachment and that is what ulitmately makes us gay or straight.. or bi.
Having sex in prison or being married with 3 kids because society has brainwashed you makes you no more less 'gay' or 'straight'.
By your definition then people who abstain from sex are neither straight or gay, therefore they shouldn't qualify their sexual atractions?
The KISS method says yes, if that goes there that makes you..... but the more one thinks about sexual maturity and needs goes FAR beyond bathroom humor.

"Bathroom humor"? Ho boy.
And, straight men do NOT have sex with men -- and that includes prison sex. Rape is not sex.
Bi or gay men have sex with men. Straight men have sex with women.
And, the celibacy is a total strawman, because I have no "definition."
And, don't lecture me about gay sex...

But why would you think I would lecture you on gay sex? I've been in a M2M committed relationship for going on 19years now.
Having lived through both being 'straight' because I was married and 'gay' because I lived with a man and 'bi' because I have kids, sheesh, NONE of us get to PICK our labels ANYWAY... they're chosen for us.
My only point is that if we go strictly by what body part enters another body part, we're doing a disservice to what it means to be human and sexual.
But if it keeps the savages sane because they dont have to think any further than their penis' protrude, good for them. But sexuality is much more than the mechanics. End of lecture on SEX, straight, gay,or bi & buy.

9. speaking from personal experience |
|
there really are people who "experiment", even late in life, who are and remain "straight".
Just because you have chinese food once does not make you asian american.
Anyway, until there is a real scale with honest answers, labels such as "bi" and "mostly ____" are silly. Anyone who has ever pleasured themselves could be considered "bi" under some criteria.

While I confess to being personally too rigid in my thinking and practice to consider such things for myself, my best friend from high school fits what you described. I have also read in an article several years ago about some folks in Provincetown who decided to broaden their horizons to offset the winter boredom. This included sexual play between gay men and lesbians. The author asked one woman who had engaged in such, "So what does that make you?". I thought her answer was sharp, "A lesbian who has had sex with a man." There is a certain "one hand clapping" flavor to the answer. Many in the gay community have for a long time maintained that there are simply too many people in this world to fit them neatly into three categories.
Of course I have just now argued myself out of my demand for Charlie Crist to come out, since under this theory it's quite possible that he has had sex with a man without becoming unstraight. It doesn't alter the fact that he has stated outright that he has never had sex with a man. But given our discussion, perhaps that really is his own business. What isn't his business is his declared position on gay marriage. So what to do with such folks?
