Poll question: Was the outing of Ted Haggard in anyway responsible for our loss
of Domestic partnership or enacting anti-gay amendments? Some here in Colorado are trying to blame our losses on the hustler who outed Haggard. One guy told me the hustler sold us out for his "15 minutes of fame." I would like to see what your opinions are.

2. I thought "the hustler" did quite an honorable thing...
I don't recall that the purchase of sexual services is covered by any kind of confidentiality, the way pastoral and medical matters are. And the guy held off a long time, while Haggard publicly villified and denigrated gay people.

3. To the contrary - I think it is responsible for our WIN in the house and senate
by contributing to the sense of the GOP as corrupt, and demoralizing "the base".

5. The hustler tried to get 9 News to run it in Sep.
He also fielded it to the ABC affiliate, Channel 7. Neither would touch it. Only when he went on a local radio talk show did they pick it up, which was one week before the elections.

It didn't help among Haggert's folllowers, since they had a gay marriage man to vote for, and a domestic partners referendum to vote against. They still don't think Ted is gay. Not enough time passed to let it sink in.

6. His name is Mike Jones
Do you usually reduce people to a single label? Why or why not?

7. I call him Mikey
I sometimes see him 2 or 3 times a week. I think he was great, but someone I know who publishes a small-time magazine was going to publish a piece saying Mike only did it for 15 minutes of fame. I threw a fit. The publisher was refusing to even speak to Mike. I did this poll to see what people here at DU thought.

But only because they can't get away with stoning us to death. Yet.
