51 Species of Animals Who Engage in Homosexual Activity on Display!
I thought I would cross-post this gem from the General Discussion page. . .

Yep. . .watch the American fundy heads explode when they read this latest article. The Natural History Museum in Oslo, Norway, has an exhibit featuring some 51 species of animals which engage...not only in homosexual "activity" but who PRACTICE it in full view of the animal kingdom public!

While no one in the theocratic States of America will hold their breath waiting to see a traveling version of this exhibit, it appears that homosexual contact is rather rampant in the animal kingdom - in fact, among giraffes it can be as common as that pesky child-producing dance of the heteros. . .

From male killer whales that ride the dorsal fin of another male to female bonobos that rub their genitals together, the animal kingdom tolerates all kinds of lifestyles.

A first-ever museum display, "Against Nature?," which opened last month at the University of Oslo's Natural History Museum in Norway, presents 51 species of animals exhibiting homosexuality.

"Homosexuality has been observed in more than 1,500 species, and the phenomenon has been well described for 500 of them," said Petter Bockman, project coordinator of the exhibition.

The idea, however, is rarely discussed in the scientific community and is often dismissed as unnatural because it doesn't appear to benefit the larger cause of species continuation.

umm...and I kinda like this part:

However, species continuation may not always be the ultimate goal, as many animals, including humans, engage in sexual activities more than is necessary for reproduction.

"You can make up all kinds of stories: Oh it's for dominance, it's for this, it's for that, but when it comes down to the bottom I think it's just for sexual pleasure," Wolfe told LiveScience.

It's time for the men of the Concerned Women for America to start writing massive emails demanding this research continue to be repressed. . .

6. It's time for Concerned Women of America
to show concern for real problems--like poverty, hunger, homelessness, disease, the uninsured, etc. All they worry about instead are these non-issues. :eyes:

7. I live on a farm once...there isn't much you don't see
Cows going at it when they're penned up without a bull, young tomcats who haven't started going out tomcatting mounting each other, geese doing threesomes in the pond...

They say the GOP vote is heavily rural -- but either they're faking it, or they're denying the evidence of their own eyes.

We're not at all like animals, don'tcha know. We're "better" than they are.

12. Does sound like an awesome exhibit!
Go, Oslo!

As others have noted, of course, proving that gay behavior is natural in animals won't phase the real haters for long. There's nothing more natural than rape and murder among animals, they'll point out; what makes us human is our sense of right and wrong, blah blah blah...

But who cares! It's bound to open some eyes and hearts, and in any case it's a great celebration of being gay as a positive force in nature! So yee haw!
