The few Senators that suppor equal marriage rights.

Feingold and Kennedy. Who are the others? I think there is five but I don't know anyone other then those two.

1. that's the real heart of the issue
If they don't personally believe in marriage equality, then they can't sincerely defend it, even if their polls tell them they should.

And because many of our very own "progressive" and "liberal" dems do NOT want anything to do with marriage equality, but still want our vote for their "more important" agenda items, I think it's long past time we woke up and spoke up.

And if anyone calls you a suicide dove, let me know. I haven't eaten anyone for breakfast yet, but I could use a snack.

3. I have to say I have seen more and more of
less and less of our willingness as a group to tolerate intolerance. And it gives me a warm glowy feeling inside and a little on the outside too.

5. To be honest, I don't know of any for certain
Mostly, you hear about Kerry and Dean, both of whom have gone on the record adamantly opposed to equal marriage. Somehow, though, their support for state decided Jim Crow "civil unions" makes everything better. :eyes:

7. Whitehouse
Senator elect from RI. Stated it openly and clearly in one of his debates with Chafee. but then again, if your republican opponant is pro marriage equality, how can you not be?

9. I think we can probably count on the gay Representatives
At least, the Democratic ones, Barney Franks and Tammy Baldwin (am I missing anyone?) That gay Republican Jim Kolbe has been an opponent of equal marriage shows that even gay people will work against their own interests and can't be depended on to further their own rights.

10. Anyone ever see Saunders comment on this?
He mostly talks about economic issues so I've never heard him comment on marriage equality, but I think he voted against DOMA.
