I caught myself worrying that posts in this Forum

appear in the "latest" page. And this made me feel embarrassed and self conscious.

You never felt so self conscious and embarrassed about something that even very slight visibility like the Latest page where anyone on DU can see your post makes you uneasy.

Need to get pass that , but maybe it needs time and courage.

3. No. It doesn't bother me.

It isn't as if you posted your home phone number or address. The only thing I would see as embarrassing is posting something homophobic in the GLBT group and that appearing on the "latest page." Personally, I would think this is the place to assert your courage because there is a certain anonymity. Thankfully, this place also allows you to proceed at your own pace.

6. I know what you're saying, but no, absolutely not.

In REAL life, I may check my thoughts when speaking, but I'll be DAMNED if I hold back (while remaining civil) before posting whatever I want, wherever I want here on DU. As someone else said, you need not give out your name/address here (though people do sometimes).

usually about typing something stupid or redundant, but the more informed I've become the more my concerns have decreased. You'll be fine, too.
