Court Still Undecided About Same-Sex Rights
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/03/030305oregon.htm

Today marks the one year anniversary of the first same-sex weddings in Oregon, but the legality of those marriages remains in doubt.

The rush to wed began when Agnes Sowle, the Multnomah County attorney, said a review of state law led her to "conclude that the Oregon Constitution prohibits the county from discriminating" against same-sex couples for the purpose of marriage.

As word spread throughout the community a line of gay and lesbian couples began to form in front of the county clerk's office. Braving a driving rain hundreds of people camped out overnight waiting for the office to open.
