Youth Handed 13 Years Behind Bars For Gay Attack

An Austin teen convicted in the beating of a gay Austin man was given a 13-year sentence on Friday.

The 17 year old, whose name is protected because of his age, must serve the first three years in a juvenile detention facility and will then be transferred to an adult prison. He was 16 at the time of the attack.

He was one of four men charged in the attack on the victim, whose name is also being withheld out of concerns for his safety.

They went to a gay bar and picked up a guy....brought him home, cut him, beat him, and sexually assaulted him.

13 years is not nearly enough for this scum. I hope he ends hanging in his jail cell!

6. I simply can't understand this level of hatred

I have had strong dislikes of people at various points, but to choose a random person and attack him for being gay (even if you do think it is wrong blah blah blah) is so far away from my reality that I barely know how to respond.

The worst part is when you realise how close this is to the 'calm surface' of the American right-wing.
