Three things you can do to show your support for marriage equality

Interesting concepts. I think I like them - but a lot if people need to do it for it to have any impact.

Display a BLUE LIGHT in your front porch, window or store front to show support for EQUALITY FOR ALL.

Interesting concept. I think I like it - but a lot if people need to do it for it to have any impact.

There is also the white knot/ribbon movement going on for those interested in how to show support (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4493998&mesg_id=4493998).

And there is a postcard action too: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4495321&mesg_id=4495321

1. Checking these things out right now.
I'm so ashamed of my state today.

O.K.; the Court is going to hear the case. Why didn't they issue a stay? What, it's o.k. to eliminate civil rights for a protected ("suspect" is the legal term) class for several months?

We have to be the most backward state out there (California). This is a great thing for me to find out as I approach my 50th birthday this 27th of November.

2. Oh, No....You're Still Pretty Progressive, As Far As States Go.
You actually HAD gay marriage for awhile. And you only lost it by a slim vote. There are many MORE states where the margin of victory for the bigots would have been MUCH higher.

You live in one of the more progressive states in the country, and gays STILL can't get married there. How fucking sad is that?

a march on my b-day! Nothing could make me happier.

:)

I have to check it out - Did Harvey die on my b-day?

:(

He was killed on my b-day, and I was only 20 years old. I remember the incident, and, now, I remember being sad. I was 20, though, and did not understand the full significance of things, I'm afraid. I was absorbed by my own difficulties with my family, and my own ensuing depression.

I'm sure a human rights advocate now; maybe I'm making for past sins.

I dedicate my marching tomorrow to the great Mr. Harvey Milk's memory; and I'll toast his memory on my b-day.
