A three pronged health payment plan?
Since Universal Health Care is a no-no in this country, maybe it's time we think more about funding than delivery...

How about a "sliding scale" of health payments? Goverment pays part, Corporations pay part, and people pay part. If you're a millionare, then you pay it all. If your middle class but your company is in the billions, you pay a little while the company pays all. If you work at McDonalds, then McD pays some while government pays most. It all depends on what the situation is and income.

Now you say: "This will take forever and be riddled with corruption". No, not really. Income provides the guidelines for how much you pay. Buisness income determines how much the company pays. And the government chips in the rest. Simple?

2. That would encourage corporations to pay their employees less.
The lower their pay rate, the lower their accompanying benefits would cost.

3. insurance
I think Wal-Mart's already figured out how to get government to cover the tab. This scheme would only force more corporations to do so. Airlines, GM. . . The net result would be government would pay for all; fine with me as long as the government empowers itself to negotiate pricing with powerful medical and pharmaceutical behemoths.
