Yeah but what about the "public option"?

I am reading lots of news about a mandated health insurance system and proposals of how to pay for it but virtually ZERO about the "public option" part.

Anyone have any insight on the details of it in the House and Senate versions?
Are there "triggers" and other weakening details?
