Does anybody know how the proposed health insurance reform will affect Medigap insurance. |
|
My mother, who is on Medicare, currently pays each month for a supplemental insurance policy to cover what Medicare does not cover, aka Medigap.
Will the proposed reforms have any effect on the cost of Medigap policies or on the benefits that they provide?

1. That's what I'm wondering...it costs the two of us $4,000 |

per year..$2,000 each. On top of the $96.40 month for Medicare, plus $19.30 per month for the Part D. We are lucky, Mr. Shraby has a small company pension. Without it, we wouldn't be able to care the gap policy. I'm sure this is true for many who only have Social Security.

2. better not touch medigap |

If they harm medigap and leave people to only those fraudulent "advantage" supplementals, the insurers will have won a HUGE and sneaky victory against the American people.
