HPV jab girls are 'sex cautious'

The findings may go some way to dispel concerns that the cervical cancer vaccine could make girls more likely to start having sex younger, say experts. But 14% of the 500 girls surveyed and who had been offered the vaccine said they might take more sexual risks because of it. The findings are published in the British Journal of Cancer.

1. Gonna be some disappointed boys
complaining about blue balls, but I imagine this will help allay some of the fears the girls' parents have.

My mother taught me all the mechanics of birth control, making me think the whole thing was just too damn much trouble for too little reward. I think that contributed to my being a late bloomer.

The Netherlands, with their frank and complete sex education in their schools, has found a similar result, with both sexes delaying sexual experimentation.

If a poke with a needle into the deltoid muscle is one of the things it takes to get through to them, I'm all for it. If that needle also helps protect against cervical cancer, it's a win-win.
