More fat on the humans in the U.S. makes them tastier. Easier to catch too. :-)

And some of us are more piggy than others. Sorry, that's an unwarranted slur of perfectly respectable swine. We need new species metaphors for Rove.

At any rate, you point out an interesting contradiction. It's often mentioned that humans evidently taste like pork, but it's also reported that predators like lions won't eat human meat unless they're desperate: old, toothless, crippled, whatever. We're the last item on the menu, which implies we aren't as tasty as a bacon rasher.

Apparently we smell bad because we're also predators and eat meat (whereas pigs are more inclined to eat their greens, I suppose). So vegetarians may need to take special care when walking through the countryside.
