Satellite Tracking Software...free from a nice Polish kid
http://www.stoff.pl/index.php

If you're an astronomy buff and haven't seen this, you're missing out. A young man in Poland by the name of Sebastian Stoff has created a wonderful little application to track man-made objects in orbit.

Using NORAD data, it tracks everything from telecomm satellites to space junk. The software is free; all he asks is that you send him a post card with your first name and location so he can post it on his web page.

At 5:31 I watched the Southwestern sky and - sure enough and right on schedule - the International Space Station whizzed overhead. Really cool.

4. You also might check out NASA's J-Pass website
http://science.nasa.gov/Realtime/JPass/20/

Make sure to check out J-Track 3D. It gives a visual three dimensional realtime model of every satellite in orbit. It's crowded up there!

Thanks for the link. I got local lat/long in digital format by typing in my ZIP. Excellent. Now to try their software...

On edit: As of now, you're the second-to-the-last liberal. However, my friend is moving out of state in about a month, so you'll be it. ;)

6. Sweet
Thank you much. I used something similar to spot the ISS one time, but this looks much more comprehensive.

7. Glad you like it
I got a rush when I saw the ISS overhead right when the software predicted. Blew me away.
