On edit: You can't hide the Lounge (I tried ;-)), but you can remove it from your Latest page. Just edit your preferences.

3. I stay away from the lounge

I tend to hit the "greatest" link instead of "latest" that way I miss most of the lounge threads.

The lounge has gotten very mean lately - mean to animal lovers, mean to feminists, both of which I am. I just stay out.

I seem to get flamed every time I wade in there-even when I'm trying to be helpful and kind to someone seeking advice! I swear, some days the lounge and Freerepublic could be interchagable, with all the hatred, infantile remarks, and blatant ignorance. It doesn't need to be that way. My only guess is that there ARE a lot of trolls there, and they stay there to pad their post counts. :shrug:

12. Not sure if it was the lounge but I saw you get into it over the Rotties

just skimming the banners, but I didn't dare enter tonight. I am exhausted after taking my 60 lb Bella Basset to the vet. She injured her back and couldn't walk so I literally had to carry her in. Whew!!!I am in pain now! (she is much better now, the vet gave her a shot of steroids and is on aspirin. She was whimpering all night and doesn't handle pain well)

And I used to hang there quite a bit (for years). Interesting to see that things haven't changed much. It's still just people trying to push other people's buttons. I suppose if you have nothing better to do, it's a good waste of time but I'd rather do something more productive now I guess. To each their own. :shrug: Just realize if you do hang out there, that that's all they are tying to do - get a reaction out of someone. They probably sit up all night thinking how they can do that. :boring:

It's funny that you say "I wonder if you can 'hide' the lounge?" because that's where people used to go to hide out from GD when things got too testy there.
