You see, their mommas told them to eat meat so they eat meat. They think that vegans and vegetarians are crazy because everyone knows that eating meat is just fine and dandy. Don't give them any statistics or research on the ill effects of meat, because they know that meat is just fine. Don't tell them that they will lose the taste for meat if they stop eating it because they will tell you that they don't want to stop eating meat because they are carnivores by damn!

Don't suggest that the global production of meat is environmentally damaging or that we can feed tens of thousands of more people by farming the land currently used for meat production. They won't hear it.

Don't tell them that soy products are very good for them because they will turn their noses up at the mention of the magic bean.

They can't hear because they don't want to hear. Their continued attempts to push down the seeds of doubt cause them to hit out at vegans and vegetarians. It is all very primal, really.
