Well, that was not productive. |

I started a thread asking why people do not eat dogs and cats. Most people either said they would if they'd been raised with it.
Which brings me to a point I was ridiculed for months ago: would you eat human fetuses if you were raised on it and they tasted good? I think this is a perfectly valid question. I mean, many of us were raised doing things we now as adults find unacceptable or wrong for whatever reason.
I just don't get the logic in the argument - if you'd eat cows and pigs without any moral problem, why not dogs and cats? Supposedly they taste pretty good... I'm obviously not encouraging this, just trying to get them to think. Typically, the usual suspects got defensive immediately.

Logic. There is no logic in the argument. There's only ego. To most, things (or animals) only have the value that the individual gives them/it. These values aren't inherent, but should be. Folks that can't step outside their own mind to recognize this will always make decisions this way. This is why I like the "selfish" angle. Eating meat is a selfish act by definition.
