Bill Maher not a vegetarian!?
He was just on Larry King and someone called asking about the horrible treatment of farm animals, and LK asked him if he was veg and he said no! I thought he was...but he did say he rarely eats meat.

Nonetheless, Bill did of course say he was a board member of PeTA, and denounced the treatment of farm animals and referenced the antibiotics, hormones, etc in meat.

1. Hm. I'm with him.
I'm at such an age <12> where it's hard to just give up meat. I think so much animal cruelty exists today, and I'm with Bill on this one.

3. Bummer.
I always wonder what people mean when they say "rarely." Once a week? Once a month? Twice a year?

7. Has to be at least once a month, otherwise they would get sick
My body began reacting badly to meat about 2 weeks after I kicked it 8 or so years ago. It doesn't take long. It's like your body is saying "you'll never take me back, I'd rather die than go back!"

9. I know exactly what you mean. Your body gets so it can no longer digest it
When I was very ill, and anemic, my mother insisted that I eat some meat that she'd cooked because she said I needed the iron. Yikes! Within the next couple of hours, I was so sick. I stopped at the store and left my friend and my groceries at the checkout to run to the rest room. It hit me so suddenly that I didn't even have time to explain. This really ought to tell you something. It sure did me.:puke:

4. I was surprised to hear that too!
I will say he states the message about the cruel treatment of animals more than many of the veg celebrities do.

5. I read somewhere a while ago that he eats fish/seafood
I don't know about what other animals he eats. He's done a lot for animals, what with his work with PETA and The Genesis Awards.

6. I think he went through a "phase" a few years ago
...but it isn't necessary to be vegetarian to abhor animal cruelty, especially on factory farms.

I try and keep my talking points with non-vegs focused on animal cruelty, human health and alternatives to factory farming. Here's a good site:

8. I've never liked Bill Maher
and I always found his show highly annoying.

Oh well. I know most people disagree with me.
