4. Thanks! I've never seen this one!:-)
For a minute, I thought that it was a TV channel. I sometimes watch The Food Network and it often boggles my mind that they don't offer any strictly vegetarian programs, since there is definitely an audience for it. Some of the chefs offer special vegetarian recipes or vegetarian alternatives, especially Ming Sigh, but there aren't any exclusively vegetarian shows.

The one that I'm most familiar with is Vegetarian Times, which is probably not news to anyone. I have subscribed to the magazine for years, but now also subscribe to their newsletter on-line.:-)

5. Thanks for the veg. times link
:hi: I agree with you on the food channel. I think a veg. show would be very popular. Surely there has to be some veg. chef around who could do it.

I remember when Mollie Katzen had a show on PBS. I don't know why the show didn't last longer than it did.

6. You're welcome! Vegetarian Times is just excellent!
I used to read it, years ago, in my doctor's office, but he never kept me waiting long enough to finish an article, so I had to subscribe! LOL! They organize their recipes very effectively, categorizing the different types in the index in the back. And, at the end of every year, they include an index for all the recipes in that year's issues! They only continue to improve.:applause:

The only problem I've ever had with them is that some of their ingredients are tough to find, here in small-town America.

As for their website, it's extremely user-friendly. You can find pretty much anything here and quite easily. If you're looking for recipes in which to use a certain ingredient, for example, a search will list numerous ones...:D

As for a veg show on The Food Network, maybe we should write in. I've often thought of it, especially since they seem to love feedback. But it does seem that they ought to have thought of it themselves. They already jumped on the "low carbs" bandwagon, which seems kind of "out there" to me, though I know it's popular. However, eating vegetarian has to be much healthier, since you're not ignoring an entire essential food group. I've heard this criticism of the "low carb" diet from nutritionists.

7. VegNews is a good magazine too.
They have little snippets of animal rights news among the articles. And the recipes are pretty easy. They also have a monthly newsletter.

I think the problem with vegetarian shows is they make all the other shows look bad. They'd threaten to take over the whole network. :D

8. Thanks! I'll take a look at this one! Easy sounds just right for me, LOL!
I do enjoy cooking, but whenever I read that I can find a certain ingredient at my local Asian market, I know that this is something I am unlikely to ever make!

As for animal rights news, Vegetarian Times has this, as well, or they did. They have changed their format so many times in the past couple of years, in the name of progress, that even I'm confused...

But I will check out the newsletter, like I don't already get far too many, LOL!:D

And you're probably right about a vegetarian Food Network TV series. I tune out the low carbs and the kick it up spicy ones, but who doesn't want to eat healthier, easier and be kinder to our planet, not to mention our animal friends?!
