and do any of you melt Cheddar cheese on top of the potatoes?

1. Here's mine

Brown hamburger with onions and salt and pepper (this is your first layer in a casserole dish)

Then, drain a can of peas and pour evenly on top of cooked hamburger in casserole dish.

Then spread mashed potatoes on top of peas.

Top with cheese. Put in 350 degree oven until cheese melts.

(My daughter substitutes corn for peas because her husband hates peas, but it just isn't the same.)

2. Mine is just like yours, except

we use creamed corn instead of peas and no cheese.
