Some kid came to the door yesterday selling tamales. |
|
They were for his church. I thought, well, okay, it's for a good cause. Six bucks for a dozen isn't bad. Now you have to remember I am a tamale connoisseur. I got the pork ones because those are my favorite. They were still warm. When I took a bite the masa was good, but the meat was only a little bigger than a toothpick. Rip off. I will be making my own in about a week or two.

I wish somebody would come to *my* door about now selling tamales. I'm hungry, and lazy!
Shouldn't church groups sort of go out of their way to not cheat consumers out of tamale filling? Hardly God-like behavior.

4. I wonder if this is a Texas thing; |
|
or if it happens in all states with a large Mexican-American population...My husband's place of business is right off a major freeway on the west side of Fort Worth and they always get someone there selling burritos, tamales, breakfast tacos, etc.
All this talk about tamales is making me hungry...man, I REALLY want Mexican food tonight!

7. I had a dream one night |

I dreamed that I had this little booth in the middle of a parkway. It was dawn and I was selling burritos out of it. I had this warming thing like one of those new electric coolers that also can keep things warm. Instead of stopping to pay tolls, they would stop if they wanted and buy a burrito.

I'd be scared to buy homemade food someone was trying to peddle. Yikes.
