DU husbands - How to make a cheap meal for your wife
Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 09:37 PM by bearfan454
A head of lettuce was 78 cents, 6 hard boiled eggs cut in half 60 cents, 2 Roma tomatoes 89 cents, a small can of sliced black olives 49 cents, small Mozzarella cheese package $1.49, and Ranch dressing $1.59. I had the ham lunchmeat already. Just whip it together and you have this:

Go shopping early in the morning for reduced for quick sale items. They go out of date in 2 to 3 days. Freeze them as soon as you get home and they are good as long as you use them the same day you thaw them out. 2 bacon wrapped filet mignons for $2.58

Wrap some potatoes in tin foil after you smear them with extra virgin olive oil from Spain(my favorite oil) and gas grill them.

I had leftover frozen asparagus that I heated up with real butter.

Put the filet mignons on the gas grill about 20 minutes after the baked potatoes so it all gets done at the same time. Mrs bearfan likes hers well done so I don't put mine on until after I flip hers. I'm a medium rare man myself.

Brownies with walnuts and whip cream for dessert.

Do the dishes, rub her feet, make a bubble bath for her and watch what happens.

I had a different brand, but I assume they are the same. Even better for the brownie, whip your own whipped cream with some sugar and vanilla. Also, melt some butter in a skillet, and put in a bunch of green beans. Add a few tablespoons of water, salt, and some toasted almonds. Cooks in a few minutes! Great.

P.S. I like the zero-carb whipped cream next to the brownie.
