I found a really good low-carb pasta! |
|
I'm not a "low-carb dieter", but I try to find healthier alternatives to our favorite "bad" foods. I do try to get more complex carbs by getting whole grains, which translates to lots of fiber. I've tried whole wheat pastas before, but the family didn't care for the texture/color/taste combo. Yesterday, I bought some RF brand rotini, and spaghetti. It has 1/2 the carbs of regular pasta, and TONS of fiber. The calories are still about the same, though.I used the rotini last night, and it was REALLY GOOD. The two skeptics (um, that's everyone but me) didn't even KNOW, and LOVED the meal!

1. Dreamfields is the best I've found. |

I don't like the whole wheat stuff either, so had given up until I found Dreamfields. It's available at a couple of the grocery stores around here, and also online. They have their own website where you can buy it by the case, or you can order individual boxes at (I think) Netrition.com.
