Pastry for Beef Wellington |
|
I am contemplating making beef wellington for Christmas day. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a pre-made pastry dough that i can use.

1. I used store-bought puff pastry last time I made it. |

That tasted pretty good. If I remember, though, the timing ended up being funky (pastry took longer than the beef) and the beef got overdone. You might be able to pre-bake the puff pastry a bit to even it all out?
I'm not sure I helped at all here...but I hope so. :-)

3. Frozen Puff Pastry is actually very good |

The trick making the Beef Wellington is to roll out the pastry to a thin sheet and then cut it to fit the roast. You also don't want the roast to be too large.
Check out a Julia Child cook book and you'll get exact weight recommendations.
