Soul food recipe website
Just thought I'd share this recipe website I got from one of my Christmas day visits. I was shown some macaroni and cheese recipes, so that is what I am going to try this afternoon.

2. The salmon croquettes were great!
Not quite as good as my dear departed grandmother's (I have never been able to duplicate hers, which were heavenly), but quite tasty. I changed the recipe a bit - made them slightly moist, then dusted with flour before frying. Served them with creamed spinach, new potatoes, and a green salad, also accompanied by a glass of Pinot Grigio. Mr. Sleepyhead and I are quite content.

4. Have you ever fixed chitterlings before?
I have. I even had the misfortunate experience of cleaning them one year (and refused to do that anymore). They're quite vile, but people like them when they're drunk. Go figure?

5. No way.
I remember being 2 or 3 years old crawling under a bed to escape the stench of mom cleaning those dastardly things. I am still kind of squeamish about them, knowing chitterlings' original function when still attached to the pig. I plan to be quite drunk next time I eat them.
