Chicken Soup Edition PART TWO (9/10) - What are you eating tonight? |
|
I am still sick but much, much better. Thanks for the well wishes. We will be having pork roast, baked potatoes and fresh veggies for supper tonight. I can't wait. This was my favorite dish when I was a kid.
What will you be having for supper tonight?

4. Nice to hear that you're feeling better |
|
Your dinner sounds tasty, too. I've got some chicken breast strips in brine and plan on making green chile with them.

7. Sounds yummy!! We're having Italian breaded pork chops, |
|
garlic dill steamed red potatoes and garlicky spinach. We loves our garlic (there's garlic in the breading for the chops too, mmmmm).

10. Chicken and vegetable soup with matzo balls |
|
I know it's not traditional to put things other than broth and balls in matzo ball soup, but dammit, if I can reform myself out of all religion, I can reform the cuisine to suit my tastes, too.
I've got an ick, too... so the soup is not one of my more stellar creations: Manischewitz matzoh ball mix, shredded boneless skinless chicken breasts (what I had in the house) a mix of my own stock (from last spring) and better than bouillon, a bag of vegetable soup veggies. If it weren't for convenience foods of that sort....

11. The local (unionized!) supermarket had a sale on prawns |
|
Enormous and cleaned for $7.99 a pound.
They were so good last week that I repeated the experience: butterflied the prawns, marinated them in olive oil, butter and garlic, made a simple breadcrumb, onion and celery stuffing, and baked them in the shells, stuffed.
They were just as glorious this time around.
A salad and a baked apple rounded out the dinner.
