My family member who is chef at an old restored inn in New England just got a couple of flats of fresh gooseberries and is pondering what to do with them.
Any old family recipes here?
I told him about fool and pie and spiced gooseberries from my collection of New England cookbooks.
But I wondered if other regions do other things.
Yes? No?

I make it with blueberries, but I bet it would be yum with gooseberries too. Egg, bread, cream cheese, berries. It's our Christmas breakfast every year.
