Portabellas are in, this is a good use in any of your basic lasagna fixin's.
I used a left over thick, tomato meat sauce w/onion, garlic, celery, squash, etc. Any would do, I think.
Lasagna pasta, cooked.
Grated parmesan, romano. Slivered mozzarella.
2 big portabellas, rinsed, dried, drenched in olive oil, salt, pepper, sage and oregano, browned well and thick sliced.
Layer all as usual, setting the mushroom slabs on the lasagna. Top with some grated cheese, bread crumbs and drizzled olive oil.
Bake at 350 'till bubbling.
Meatless sauce would make a good veggie dish.
I serve topped with fresh basil for the show and the smell.
