Friday night swill
I went shopping this afternoon and bought some fresh butterfly trout. Came home and asked the mister if he'd like them broiled. Nope. I also got a couple of Totino's pizzas for a dollar each. Now I was talking his language.

Dinner was soived:
Totino's pizzas
Bag o' salad
Cucumber dressing
Hawaiian Punch

Ouch!!! Quit lobbing those baguettes at my head!

2. Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do
I'm always amazed at what kind of stuff makes my SO happy. Sometimes he's as happy as a clam with a baguette, a bottle of Barilla Puttanesca sauce and some swiss cheese. I think that's his favorite quick dinner. Bread, Sauce and Cheese---Pizza-esqe!

3. Ham and cheese sandwiches.
Potato salad, applesauce, and barbecue beans.

Beer for hubby, white wine for me. He was thrilled that I put it together and served him on a tray in his La-Z-Boy! :D

4. Hawaiian Punch - every kid's favorite
I **still** like it!

Just as a bit of trivia, if I remember correctly Punchy had a budding political career a while back .... against Bush I?

5. I can handle it all but the Hawaiian Punch
I was anemic as a kid and my mom had to give me cod liver oil. She put it in Hawaiian punch. Once when I was an adult, we were at a party and someone offered me Hawaiian punch and I gagged. My mom asked me why - I told her that it tasted bitter and oily. It was only then she told me why. I'm 47 now and the smell of Hawaiian punch still nauseates me.

6. Funny and sad
It is sometimes amazing how we traumatize kids when our only intent is loving.

I wish kids came with instructions. And parental do's and don'ts. No doubt my own kids have such memories that I don't even know about.

7. I don't hold it against my mom - she did the best she could
I just find it interesting that I could still taste the cod liver oil twenty plus years after the fact. When my son had to take antibiotics (horse pills) I ground them up into chocolate pudding, for some reason, it hasn't lessened his love of chocolate.

8. We had Boca burgers
and oven fries. I was pretty satisfied after that, but then we went to a party and H ate two pieces of Costco pizza. Then he complained about how full he was on the ride home. :eyes:
