What's for Dinner? ~ Tuesday March 31st edition |
|
I think it will be crepes for us, but I'm not certain yet. Bill is on his way back from picking up his son, and I'm not sure what will happen after they get back. So I am fluid on the dinner issue. :)
What's for dinner where you are?

we just had four houseguests leave (grandson, daughter in law and her parents) and the fridge is full of leftovers. But I don't want to face them yet, and since there are still two houseguests left (daughter, boyfriend) and he loves my pizza, I think I'll make that again. He made crepes last night by the way--for dessert--and she cut up fruit for them. That's why you have kids--payback. All I had in the house was whole wheat flour, but he made some good crepes nevertheless. With strawberries, blackberries and ice cream. Yum.

The crepes sound really good! We ended up with roast pork and veggies.

2. Taco salad (made with Yves ground) |
|
I just put two loaves of corn-rye bread in the oven. Not that it goes with taco salad, but it will make good toast in the a.m. :hi:

5. Bean taco's with provolone cheese... |
|
Its a global thing...and I am out of cheese of any other kind. How bad could it be? Ya got yer beans, yer cheese and some quick fried corn tortillas...a little lettuce, some lemon pepper...mmmm. Ok, I didn't make the food budget this month, close but now I am down to using what I can.

2 tablespoons jerk seasoning of your choice(I make my own) 2 tablespoons flour Mix together and dredge chops then fry in a little olive oil until browned on both sides.
While chops are cooking: Add:
2 tablespoons of brown sugar 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar to the remainder of the flour seasoning.
Open one can of pineapple chunks w/juice one can of black beans, rinsed one red bell pepper, chopped
Add the flour seasoning mix to the chops then add the pineapple, beans and pepper. Cover and simmer until peppers are tender but not mushy.
My husband got this recipe from the Men's Health magazine a few years ago. We love it. Plus, it will leave your house smelling like spice for the entire day.

16. It is really easy to do |
|
I rarely use casings. I have a large electric grinder and it takes no time to grind the meat and mix in the spices. I then vacuum seal it into one pound servings and freeze.I do make some sausages that call for casings but it is a pain to do.

It turned rainy and cooler here, so turning on the oven was not an issue. I'm hoping to grill some steaks tomorrow so that if the weather is better!

Or FEB (Flour-Egg-Breadcrumb) Chicken as the family likes to call it. Green beans and some type of starch, probably potatoes.
