1. sauted with butter and garlic and maybe some chives or capers over noodles
can't go wrong with that especially if you can throw a salad together too

3. Scallops are always quick unless you gussy them up
with a fancy cream and wine sauce.

I used to put them on skewers and cook over charcoal, served with salad and a simple rice pilaf.

4. If you have bacon fry a few pieces of it up and then saute the scallops in the bacon fat.
Then crumble up the bacon and place the cooked scallops and the bacon crumbles on top of some salad greens or spinach with thinly sliced red onions and a vinaigrette drizzled over. Yum :9

Or if you don't have bacon you could bake them with some butter & basil and serve over pasta.

Whatever you decide enjoy!

5. that's a winner!
the heck with Daughter #2 being vegetarian. She was willing to make the exception for the scallops, but not go for the bacon plan. More for me! thanks! :hi:

6. Pan sear em in butter and garlic
Start with a hot pan, hit it with a drizzle of olive oil and place the scallops in the pan. Don't touch em ....Just let them sear until brown. When they are brown do a flip and get the other side. When both sides are brown remove them from the pan and then throw the garlic in the pan with a pat or two of butter. Do this off the heat as you don't want to burn your butter. If you want you can had a few big spoonfuls of white wine or lemon or orange juice will work too. You also could use balsamic. It just takes a minute to make a pan sauce. Throw the Scallops back in and you are done. Top with chopped parsley and lemon or orange zest.

PS: This is for the big sea scallops. If you have the little bay scallops the easiest thing is to saute them in a pan and add your favorite jarred tomato sauce and serve over pasta or rice.

9. You can broil 'em. A little garlic, salt...
butter and a drop of lemon juice.

Stick under the broiler (could be a toaster oven, btw) for 5-10 minutes until done.
