1. I notice it says it doesn't have to be running in the background |
|
SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background. I'm on a slow dsl line, 450 kbs speed so I'm reluctant to install anything that might slow down my internet surfing. What I am asking I guess is will I see a degradation in the time it takes a page to load, I could live with it taking longer to download something. TIA

2. Not that I have ever seen. |

I have installed SB literally hundreds of times. In conjunction with Spybot S&D's immunization feature, you will be about as spyware and malware bulletproof as you can get. I suspect the bulletproof quotient might go up by running Threatfire as well, but I have no direct evidence of that, just a hunch, based upon the way I understand Threatfire works.

3. Words I was hoping to read. |
|
I downloaded it earlier this morning. I've found that if I turn cookies to prompt then allow cookies to the sites where I need them such as DU and then turn them back off and not allow sessions cookies either that I get no tracking cookies. Just the word tracking puts me off. A few days back on a whim I turned on session cookies and when I ran ad-adaware this morning there they were a couple tracking cookies. I don't think I really understand cookies as such but if I can get by without allowing them I think I'm better for it.
Thanks for the info on spyware blaster, it'll be installed on this machine here shortly. Avg antivirus, spybot s&d, ccleaner, regseeker, advance windows cleaner v2, registry healer and power defrag using contig is my maintenance tools. Now I will be adding spywareblaster to the mix too. cool
