Kaspersky question.
I'm running Kaspersky IS 2009 and it says it keeps finding infected files. But when I click on the Neutralize All button in the reports it doesnt do anything. Is that normal? I just went to the folder where the file was and deleted it. I would have assumed that Kaspersky was supposed to fix it itself. Am I doing something wrong?

1. I can offer an informed opinion.... though not specific to Kaspersky

I had the same thing happen with SpywareDoctor and AVG, when I had a major infection with malware... Seems some of these nasties do infect your response software. Once I went out and installed malwarebytes anti-malware, it found 9 trojans immediately and deleted. Once that had happened, it was like the "hold was lifted" and SpywareDoctor was able to find 3 more (that it had found before) and both quarantine AND FIX-- and even my resident AVG security package (which doesn't seem to do much anti-spy response) kicked in and blocked the last one.

So, you may need to bring in a "partner" anti-malware to tag team if you have quite a bit of infection. See my more recent post on my Vundo infection.
