I have it set up and running Ubuntu 8.10 but....
The desktop size is only about 8x6". Even in full screen, the window is big but the desktop stays the same. In Ubuntu display properties the only resolutions available are 800x600 and 680x400 and I cannot find settings to change this. Any help from our linux-folk-in-residence?

1. VirtualBox has 'guest additions'. When at your guest OSs desktop: Click on |
|
"Devices" in the file bar, then click on "Install guest additions". If autoplay is disabled, double-click "My computer" & the drive to launch it...

and I mounted the Ubuntu iso but I'm getting a Can't find Autorun message. At the moment I'm floundering around, barely able to find a CD drive or command prompt in Linux! I'd better pirate a copy of Linux for Dummies and give myself a crash course this weekend. I guarantee I will be back........

If I'd had that years ago I would have persisted with Linux. Many thanks.
