I think I figured it out!
Edited on Sun Mar-29-09 12:42 PM by Yes We Did
I downloaded a free version of Macromedia Flash4... I just remembered seeing an error message when I installed it saying that it was unable to update the registry.

That is probably the problem... right? I did a complete reinstall last night... Not everything works fine again...

I haven't installed anything yet... What do you guys think?

1. Is Macromedia Flash
The program you refer to in your first thread when you wrote:
So, I installed one other program (that was previously working perfect) and that's when the problems began this time. So, I did a system restore to before I did the installation, and it removed it. However, the program that I installed prior to that, which worked before, now doesn't work either.

"One other program"?

2. No, it turned on...
but it gave me the registry note... However, as I said, each time I did the reinstall a different program wouldn't work, but they didn't give me any problems before, and after looking at the modified dates, the flash program matches up with the time when the problems all started... but so do a group of fonts that I'm not even using.

Also, I had put ALL of my fonts (factory installed and downloaded)into one folder, so I went back and separated them from ones I got last year and ones I got this year.

Then after the install I took out all the factory installed ones out of that folder (there were tons of duplicates and triplicates) and cleaned them out so now I have only the new ones from last year in one folder and the new ones from this year in another folder. Of the possible problem fonts, I only need a couple, so I'm going to just delete the rest.

I'm going to be getting one of the new adobe creative suites, probably the web one, in a few months...

It's important to note that all of the programs, except for flash, had been working perfectly fine before this year. So I'm just going to wait and see what happens. I'm not going to install the new fonts just yet, and I deleted flash. So, if the computer doesn't start screwing up by tomorrow I'll at least have it narrowed down, and if all it costed me was a free download of flash 4 and a few free fonts I'll be fine.

I think from now on I'm just going to stick to buying font sets for my work. This has been way too much work and has costed me almost a weeks time.
