Book/website for learning about computer "innards" ?
A friend would like to have a printed reference that shows basic information about computer hardware (ie. inside cables, circuit boards, etc.)--what it should look like/how and where it is installed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

1. Tell him/her to go to the nearest good book store.
Davis-Kidd, etc. all have pretty complete computer and tech sections, and there are dozens of good basic PC guides-- most of them at a reasonable price. I've even seen 'zines that have a pretty complete how-to layout, for around ten bucks.

Just wanted to get something posted for a kick for you! Be back in a bit with more specifics.

I assume he is more interested in windows/intel type things. If he/she is interested in SUN hardware and such let me know as I have my own site with that stuff.
