Any ideas about which one I should get? I'm an artist and I love to read blogs along with, the DU of course! I'd really rather prefer not to spend more than $1200. Suggestions anyone?

1. Well, there's the Mac Mini.

It's not the fastest computer in the world, but it's cute, it is probably very reliable. Snag a sale Samsung LCD display at NewEgg.com and a keyboard/mouse combo and you're in business.

Alternative, a little over your price but the iMac G5 is a beauty. If you are going to do graphics, that's what you want.

Macs now come with 512 Mb or memory, Airport (WiFi) and bluetooth. For graphics you might want to bump up the memory to 1 Gb, if you have the money.

2. The 17" iMac G5 is now $1299. I have the 20" and love it.

OTOH, if you now have a computer you probably have a monitor, KB and mouse already, so the mini would be a cheap way to go Mac. I got a mini for my wife for the kitchen and we both love it there. Throw a meg of memory in it and you're good to go for almost any graphics work I can think of.

You won't be sorry you switched. I used windows since 3.0 and switched in february. The house is much more peaceful now.
