Does anyone have a suggestion on a good combination |
|
CD/DVD writer? I'm willing to pay little up to $200. Just wonder what people own and their experiences are. I was thinking of Plextor.

1. You want one for a computer |
|
or a stand alone unit? Around here you can get a dual-format dual layer DVD burner for under $50 for a computer.

but I've shopped and decided on this one. Look at the reviews it has received. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152039

5. FWIW ..... I've read that NewEgg only publishes positive reviews. |
|
No negative reviews. Don't get me wrong, I have bought lots of hardware from NewEgg at a good price and I was satisfied with it. Just look around for other reviews, like www.epinions.com for one.

have dissuaded me from purchasing a particular item so I would consider them to be of the negative variety.

11. I don't believe that is true |
|
NewEgg will on occasion remove a review it feels to be dishonest or trolling, put up by a competitor or fanboy for another brand, etc. As far as I can see though actual honest but bad reviews show up there regularly, in fact I have been dissuaded from buying certain items due to the negative experience and review of other customers.
It's good advice though to get reviews from more than one source. Ya never know, and more info is always good.

in my computers. And if someone wants me to install one for them, I order those, too. They seem to work well. There does seem to be a lot of confusion as to which firmware to use when flashing the BIOS on those drives, though.

Under $120.00, dual layer burning capable, 16X, installed it about 6 months ago and it has performed flawlessly so far. Comes with complete Nero burning suite. Review: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1729475,00.asp

8. I love my LG from Newegg. - Surprisingly good... |
|
...considering they seem to have come from no where and now seem to make everything even Refridgerators and Dishwashers - what's next - LG cars?
