DVD player/burner for my Gateway. Which one do I buy?
I have a Gateway 510XLPC which was factory installed with a DVD that only burns 4X. I can't seem to get the computer to recognize 8X blank DVDs and the 4X DVDs are getting harder to find, so I figure it's time to upgrade.

Which one do you all recommend and what problems do you expect I'll find upgrading this one my own?

1. Cheap, NEC.
Quality, Plextor.
Newegg has the NEC dual layer burners for under $50, IIRC.
Anandtech.com did a comparison recently and found the Plextors to burn most reliably.
