Help me, before I turn violent |
|
Hey,
There are a few websites that within the past few days I can't see all of the pictures in. The main one is www.myspace.com. It is a picture hosting/blog hosting website. It's mainly for stupid teenagers, but since I'm a teenager, I have a lot of stupid teenager friends. Some pictures will download, but not all of them. If a user has like 10 pictures on their site, I'll get like 1 to 3 of them.
It's not a huge deal, I guess. It's only my friends, and I know how they look. But it's been buggint the hell out of me that something is wrong with my computer and I can't fix it.
I've tried using firefox, IE, MSN explorer, and aol, and none of them will work, although AOL worked very briefly. I also tried reinstalling firefox, and no use.
Thanks,
Steve

1. Have you cleaned out your cache lately? |
|
Whenever I get a big build-up of crap: cookies, temp files, etc. my pictures turn into red "x"s.
Try deleting that stuff and see what happens.

there are no red x's. sorry i forgot to mention that. there is no evidence of an image that is supposed to be there at all. if i didn't know that they were suppposed to be there, i would never know there was a problem.

I'm on 56k. I have McAfee virusscan, firewall, and privacy service. How much does a firewall usually block? Checking my inboud events, there is like one inbound event a minute, and they aren't blocked. I have my security setting set to the highest setting that is not lockdown.

6. My son had this problem. |

Its all a bit foggy now, but I remember it being a browser issue. He has no issues I know of now running a recent version of IE in Windoze98 behind a DSL modem and DSL router with firewall. There may have been some diddling with preferences involved, but I would not swear to that.
