Why can't I open links in my e-mail or while it's in |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 07:17 PM by babylonsister
suspect e-mail? I have Win XP, my ISP is earthlink, and i have spam blocker on high. Whenever I try to open a link, like from MoveOn, etc. (political mail stays in my suspect e-mail til I get around to it), the page freezes and I have to close the entire mail program. I sent one of these e-mails to myself today to see if I could open the link in my e-mail, and it froze again. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks!
PS I'm also hooked into Firefox-could that make a difference? I'm pretty lame computer-wise. :)

1. Could be you email client. |
|
What is your email client? Perhaps you should try a different one, or re-install your existing email client.

3. The program you open ... |
|
When you go to get your e-mail, what program do you use? What icon do you click on when you check e-mail, and what does it say below/beside it?
Outlook Express perhaps?

4. No, I'm using Earthlink Total Access. |
|
I start it up in the a.m., and it's at the top of my computer all day.

5. Your using TotalAccess 2005 MailBox (or a lesser version) and thats an |

Earthlink product. I doubt anyone here will be able to help with that one. Google also provided no answers. As this is an Earthlink product, I recommend you contact their technical support. As you are a current customer of theirs their support will be free.
Good luck

6. really just guessing but ... |

try holding down the control key (Ctrl) when you click the link ... depending on your settings, this may be necessary for links that are trying to open a new window (e.g. a browser window) ...
worth a shot, anyway ...
