It's been recommended to us by a guy at Comp USA and the mom & pop computer store (an Acer, anyway).

Just normal family use, nothing heavy duty, possible pics and video in the future. Is there anything I'm missing? No software included, as far as I can tell.

1. Anybody have experience with Acer laptops?

2. Do they have local repair depots?

I recomend assuring that you can get the machine reparied localy. Also check for replacement parts availiability online and the waranty .

I tend to recomend IBM (now Lenovo), HP (bussness modles) and Dell machines because there is a good waranty and dealer network. These machines are also easy to find spare parts for.

I used to work for a HP & IBM VAR.
