Does anyone have a video to Flash converter?
Edited on Wed May-24-06 06:30 PM by Faye
Don't know if any of you here follow the Election forum, but I just submitted a video me and another DU'er made a while back about the 2004 Election. I submitted it to the Huffington Post Contagious Festival but only have the video in quicktime, wmp, and real player. a lot of people are having problems viewing just one, so i had to put them all on, but it looks horrible and they all start at the same time. i really think it should be flash, but all the converters i've found - the trial version puts a watermark in the MIDDLE of the video and the purchase price is ridiculous to only use just once....

anyway, i know this forum is more for technical help but if anyone has a converter and can help me, please do
Here is the page as it is now on Huffington Post: http://stolenelection2004.cf.huffingtonpost.com/

1. Haven't used it
but the Riva Encoder is free and purports to be restriction-free:

2. thank you
my only concern is that it says it only converts to flv. i think it needs to be .swf to play as a media file on a webpage. if i am wrong, someone who knows, please let me know and i will try this. thanks again!

3. Yes, it seems you're right
I've been trying to embed an FLV into a webpage and it won't take. Nor can I find a free FLV-->SWF converter.

SWFTools has an AVI to SWF converter

http://www.swftools.org/
http://www.swftools.org/download.html

AVI2SWF man page:

http://www.swftools.org/avi2swf.html

Of course, now you'll need to re-render your video as an AVI first... it's always one thing or another, innit? :)

4. Use Youtube
or Free Video Blog, both of them convert the video to flash.

I converted your video to flash using Wondershare Video to Flash Encoder, but It doubled the size of the video.
