anyone keep fish? we have a 30 gallon fresh water and a 40 gallon salt. they actually belong to the hubby.
the freshwater is set up more for the plants than the fish, and is well established and growing. pretty self sustaining little school of tetras.
the salt is still a little shakey. it is about a year old. it is mostly coral, with a few fish. it is really cool. but who knew coral could be unhappy, and tell you?

1. I raised tropical fish for years. |

Bred labyrinth fish, corydoras cats, and the ubiquitous live-bearers. I'd like a nice multi-species community tank again someday, but at the moment I only have a single remaining piranha. Hard to do the community tank thing with those....
I've never ventured into large saltwater tanks, as I'm a little intimidated by the technology and the cost. But I always admire the fish at the pet store.... :)

my daughter has a 100 gallon salt. she is getting ready to switch over to a plant based filtration system. if she likes it i might try it. they are touchy suckers, tho. our 2 tanks now are the hubbies. but i would like to do a cichlid(sp?) tank. don't have time for it now, tho.
