new obsession

Calypso has a new obsession...

sitting in wastepaper baskets.

there is no food in the baskets - these baskets are just used for paper and similar trash.

between my partner and I - we've "extracted" her from the baskets about 15 times this morning...

I thought maybe the crinkly sound the liner bags made might be the real source of her obsession. Changed the liner bag to ones that do not make the crinkly sound. problem solved.

Now she's taken to trying to dive in the toilet when you flush... "sigh"

My problem is my 11 month old kittens keep going through the kitchen and bedroom trash.

Last night I came home to find the bedroom waste basket tipped over with trash strung out to a few feet from it. They're always tipping the trash - on purpose so they can go through it.

dang cats.

This morning Sasha got a toilet paper roll in the bathroom and shred it up too.

That's two for the week that she managed this time, and it's only Wednesday. Usually she manages to procure 1 a week.

I buy the 1000 sheet rolls, so she's tearing up stuff that would last a few weeks every roll.....if it didn't get in her claws.

2. I want to mention that Sasha also shreds rolls of paper towels when

she finds them. She'll jump on the counter and knock one down and shred it if she sees one.

I should start taking pictures. Sasha shreds things deep and completely. My niece who just moved in with me showed me one of Sashas creations from the downstairs bathroom tp roll. She couldn't believe it could be THAT shreded.
