How to discourage egg laying.... |
|
Honestly,
Murphee had a batch october, november, and december (after not having any since last May)
now she's popped out another tonight. It's winter, not spring. :(
HOW do I discourage egg laying? is she still getting too much sunlight or what?

1. I assume Murphee is of either the avian or the reptilian persuasion. |

I can't help, though, because my cats flatly refuse to lay eggs.

you left the egg with her? We have a Red Lory that was constantly laying eggs and I worried about her becoming egg bound. Finally we started letting her keep her eggs for a while. Through trial and error we found out that if she gets to keep her egg for about 5 weeks she won't lay another one for about 6 months. Course while she has her egg we get to listen to her croon to it all day and night. Around the 11 to 12 week mark she sings to it less and less. My guess is she has figured out it isn't going to hatch. When we were taking the eggs away with in two weeks she would lay another one or four. Good luck and be sure she has lots of calcium in her diet.
