Great picture. I NEED the Pet Forum to decompress from LBN, GD, and GDPolitics. I get SOOO ANGRY there. I need to be reminded that there is an abundance of warmth and love in the World. This is what I want to carry with me when I leave log off DU for the day.

5. Because we're all the same species? |
|
Think about it. Humans (at least some of us) get along just great with cats, dogs, horses, birds, and all varieties of "companion animals," but can't get along with each other. By the same token, cats will fight each other for territory, dominance, etc. So will dogs. So will birds, etc. But we can get along with other species when we are not in competition with them for the necessities of life. Why should we be surprised when other animals do the same, even if they may fight members of their own species? How do we know the kitty in that picture didn't just come from chasing a rival cat off his "turf?"
Philosophical ramblings aside, nice picture!
