Caroline county, VA shelter needs to find homes for all dogs by Friday!

I looked at their photos and this makes me so mad that they will kill these sweeties this weekend rather than find a temporary place for them while they remodel...

Caroline, VA Shelter resurfacing All dogs must go by 7/23/05

Yes, you read correct, the shelter is re-surfacing. I know there is not much of a time frame, but I wasn't given much either. If you are thinking this looks familiar you are correct. The shelter re-surfaced 2 years ago, but unfortunately that did not work.

We have a new company coming in and they will be re-finishing the kennel 1/2 at a time. That means we will only have room for dogs that are not available, so ALL available dogs MUST GO BY THIS SATURDAY at the latest. We will do everything in our power to help groups with transport etc.

I have updated our petfinder.com web page with what we have available. This urgent plea only applies to dogs.

Any dogs not spoken for by This Friday 930 AM will be PTS.

Thank you all for what you do, I know you have a thankless job, but please know you are appreciated.

1. I wish I could take them all
Is this going to be reported on the news? Maybe that would help. I have 4 of my own plus one foster who is a handfull or I would drive down and get a couple of them. I hope they find foster homes for them.

3. Thank you. I wish I could do more as well.
I have two pooches, a toddler, a small house and my husband and I work full time.

I admire you for what you do!

The effort to get the word out has really paid off. Thanks to all Du-ers who passed the message on.

Hopefully, the 4 that are left, 2 coonhounds, a Lab and a Pit Bull will find homes as well.

4. When our Humane Association was in need of work -
two or three local dog-boarding facilities agreed to house the dogs for free - it is good public relations if they get a bit of publicity. Perhaps that would work for the 4 dogs remaining if they have already had their shots?
