I'm in love with the Zoom Groom
I saw some rave reviews for it on another forum, www.thecatsite.com, and decided to give it a try. It doesn't look like much, but does it ever work! After a few strokes with the brush on kitty, all kinds of fur was stuck to the brush. I kept going and going. I got so much fur out of that 12 pound cat. I had a fist sized ball of it where I was trying to keep it together, plus it was all over the bed, and floor, so I had to vaccuum. Plus it was all over me, my t-shirt and shorts, so I had to change and take a shower. The have them for dogs too. Any of you pet lovers have a loved one who sheds, you should get this.

4. You'll both love it
What set me off on my quest for the ultimate cat brush was petting my kitty next to the desk lamp right after I finished brushing him. I brushed him two to three times a week and got quite a bit of fur out each time, or so I thought. My cat is a short haired cat. But right after brushing him, he got on the desk next to the desk lamp, and as I petted him I could see TONS of fur still coming off with each and every stroke. It doesn't happen after I zoom groom him.

Now let me explain. The zoom groom does an awesome job at loosening all the fur up, but is not as good at tidying the kitty up afterwards. I use my old cat brush after the zoom groom which might be on my cat still but hard to get off with just the zoom groom. A few strokes of the brush and he is the world's most handsome kitty again.

17. I know what you mean. My "short haired" cat sheds an ungodly amount
I could brush her for hours and still come up with a handful of fur.

I will try the zoom groom. Thanks for the tip! :hi:

20. you're welcome.. lemme know how it works out
I think you'll be amazed. Plus, my cat and I've heard others seem to love being brushed with it. Mine only tolerated brushing, because he knew he had no choice. Now he lays there and purrs for as long as I want to brush him.

22. Oh my god! It worked great!
I'm glad you told me I still needed to have the brush handy though...hair was flying everywhere. I think I'll do it outside from now on.

Both my girls, who like being brushed to begin with, were put into a trancelike state by this thing!!! It must feel like a massage. purrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Thanks again for the tip!!! :yourock:

2. Do they have one for dogs?
My new ACD mix is 'blowing' his coat right now. It is like a dog hair explosion all over my house.

3. Yes they do
but I haven't tried it. It looks just the same, only a little bigger. I'm sure it will work just as well. I used the cat one on my sister's Chocolate Lab just to show her. They were amazed at the handfuls of fur which were otherwise going to fly around the home. This was just after they finished brushing her with a normal dog brush too. You can get them at Petsmart or Petco, or other places too I'm sure.

7. My ACD may be smaller but he sure sheds alot
:-). I started a thread a couple of weeks ago here, because all that shedding seemed unusual to me. I have never had a dog shed so much.

Our FAVORITE time of year!

I'm thinking about learning to knit. I've heard Pyr hair makes comfy sweaters!

9. Yeah but Murphy sheds year round
He is shedding heavier now though, so I guess he is blowing his coat.

My knitted sweater would be red and white, lol :-).

18. Indeed he does!
Kind of like having a shetland pony in your lap! But he's my bestest buddy, and digs watching Law and Order with me.

Fargo says thanks!

19. Thanks!
He stepped on my foot pretty hard the other day, and I thought I was going to have to have a foot X-rayed for broken bones! Have a nice bruise, but all appears to be OK.

21. It works great! I still have to improve my "technique" w/it, but
you could make a whole 'nother cat w/the amt of hair it takes off my girl!
