Is there an "Amber Alert" type thing for missing or stolen pets?
A conversation at work brought the idea to mind and wondered if there was such a thing or if creating one would be a workable idea.

1. You can microchip them
I think that's the only alternative. Unfortunately that didn't save a dog in florida recently.

2. There are some online lost and found sites
though I don't have any addresses bookmarked.

It's so sad; someone in our city lost a beautiful mastiff mix, and they've had professional signs made up with his photo on them that have gone up all over town. I wish that there were some other way to help them. :-(
